Filament Goes To Jackson

Joey and I had the incredible opportunity to attend Jackson Wild, a festival celebrated for bringing together filmmakers, scientists, and conservationists to showcase stories about our connection to the natural world. From the moment we arrived, we felt the energy of the place—passionate voices, groundbreaking films, and conversations that stretched long after the panels ended.

We spent our days sitting in on discussions about climate storytelling, exploring how cinema can inspire real change. Between screenings, we found ourselves connecting with fellow filmmakers and industry leaders, sharing ideas and trading stories about the challenges and joys of independent filmmaking.

One of the highlights was pitching our current project, an intimate documentary about mountain lions in Utah. The encouragement we received was inspiring. For both of us, Jackson Wild wasn't just a festival—it was a turning point, fueling our vision and reminding us why we tell stories of the wild.
